Dear Parent/Guardian,
Recently, we have had to send quite a few students home shortly after they arrive that have come to school sick. Unfortunately, the illnesses are spreading to their classmates and staff, so please keep your child home if they are not feeling their best so we can stop the spread of illness.
Here is a list of symptoms to keep your child home from school:
- Temperature of 99.9 or greater
- Temperature of 99.1 with other symptoms
- Excessive coughing
- Excessive runny nose that requires using tissues frequently.
- Stomachache that does not get better with eating, drinking, or using the bathroom.
- Your child feels like he/she is going to throw up.
- Your child is lethargic and not acting like him/herself.
- Vomiting or diarrhea
If your child has any of these symptoms they need to stay home until they feel better. If your child has a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, he/she is required to stay home from school for 24 hours after the last episode of fever, vomiting, or diarrhea without medication.
If your child is being sent home, we require that you or someone on their emergency contact list come and pick him/her up within 30 mins.
Please reach out to the school nurse or administration if you have any questions about whether or not to send your child to school.
Thank you,
Courtney Lyons, Principal
