The Eagle Update Podcast Show Art

Exciting news from Fayette Central School! Our students have launched their very own podcast, and the first episode is now live!

Thanks to the MLTI Teach with Tech grant, FCS was able to purchase professional podcasting equipment, including high-quality microphones and a top-of-the-line sound mixer. This mixer is no ordinary tool—it adds fun sound effects and theme music, just like you hear on your favorite podcasts!

Student podcastingThe journey began in our 5th-grade technology class, where students spent three weeks exploring the world of podcasting. They listened to episodes, brainstormed ideas, created original theme music, and even recorded their own podcasts. The creative process didn’t stop there! Students also designed cover art using Canva, and other grades got to experiment with the sound mixer’s cool features, including playing spooky Halloween music and using a "monster voice" to dismiss students on October 31st.

Student podcastingFrom this hands-on learning experience, a small group of students took their interest in podcasting to the next level, deciding to create a formal podcast for our school community. The goal? To highlight all the wonderful things happening here at Fayette Central! This podcast is a true team effort, with students and staff collaborating to bring it to life. JohnLeo composed the catchy theme music you'll hear at the start of each episode, while our talented art teacher, Elaine Graf, designed the outline for our show art. After a fun design contest, students voted on their favorite features, combining them into the vibrant cover you see today.

The podcast is hosted by Cecily and Millie, who also have the important job of controlling the sound mixer during each recording. That means they’re the ones adding in sound effects and playing the theme music during each episode! They're also responsible for developing the questions asked during interviews with their peers and staff members. The final touch comes from our technology director, Daniel Picard, who edits and publishes the episodes.

Looking ahead, we plan to release new episodes biweekly, covering everything from school events to exciting projects. Our goal is to give as many students as possible the chance to develop their speaking skills and have their voices heard.

You can listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts—just subscribe to get notified when the next episode drops!
